Fujian Province has been suffering from severe rainstorm and floods since 13 June 2010. The volume and duration of the rainfall, as well as the scale of this disaster were rare in history. Local residents suffered from tremendous losses of their properties. Disasters have no mercy, but human do. Mr. Hui Wing Mau, JP, Chairman of Shimao Group and all staff members are concerned about the progress of flood relief works, the livelihood of flood victims and the reconstruction of the flood-stricken regions. On 2 July, the Group made a contribution to the reconstruction and relief works and donated RMB1 million.

As the President of Fujian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Mr. Hui is dedicated to contributing to social charity activities, and has effected delivery of his donations as soon as the floods hit Fujian. He also encourages entrepreneurs and enterprises in Fujian to contribute to the relief operations through various channels and means.
