On the morning of 11 April 2010, Xiamen Shiamo Riverside Capital Project (temporary name), the first project by Shimao Group in Xiamen, held a ground-breaking ceremony at Huli district, Xiamen. Mr. Zhao Xiaobo, Deputy Secretary General of Xiamen Municipal Government and Head of Hubian Reservoir Control Office; Mr. Hu Zhiyong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xiamen Municipal Government; Mr. Chen Rongzhen, Deputy Director of the People’s Congress of Huli District, as well as Mr. Hui Wing Mau, J.P., Chairman of Shimao Group, attended the ceremony.

Xiamen Shimao Riverside Capital Project is located in Lakeside Reservoir Area, Huli District, Xiamen, which is one of best residential areas in the city. The project covers an area of approximately 137,000 sq. m. with total planned GFA of nearly 600,000 sq. m. It is initially planned to be developed into a high-end residence complex comprising residence and commerce, such as high-rise apartments, low-density low-rise villas, featured commercial streets, schools, hospitals and other public facilities. 

Mr. Zhao Xiaobo, Deputy Secretary General of Xiamen Municipal Government and Head of Hubian Reservoir Control Office, congratulated on the ground-breaking ceremony of the project, saying that Lakeside Reservoir Area, located in the urban center of eastern Xiamen, is one of the core areas where the Xiamen Committee of the CPC and municipal government expedites the integrated development inside and outside the island. The ground-breaking ceremony of Xiamen Shimao Riverside Capital Project earmarked that the development of Lakeside Reservoir Area has been fully incorporated into the integrated development.

Mr. Hui Wing Mau, J.P., Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shimao Group, said in his speech that the Group, as a Chinese enterprise with profound affection for West Coast of the Taiwan Strait, will regard Xiamen as a strategic core location of Shimao’s investment in the region. By leveraging on our wealth of professional experiences in property development and our bright outlook for Xiamen, we will develop the project into a new landmark in the coastal area of the city.

The ground-breaking ceremony of Xiamen Shimao Riverside Capital Project not only marks the start of the construction for the redevelopment of Lakeside Reservoir Area, but also symbolizes a new high-end ecological residence rising in eastern Xiamen. The project will inject momentum into the enhancement of the overall city image and construction of Xiamen into a pleasant place to reside!
