On the morning of 29 Mar 2010, Xianyang Shimao Urban Complex (temporary name), which is the first project invested by Shimao Group in Shaanxi Province, held a ground-breaking ceremony. The official launch of the project indicates that the commercial circle and business environment in downtown Xianyang have been rebuilt and upgraded comprehensively, and shows that “Integration of Xi’an and Xianyang” scheme is expected to speed up. The project is one of the most significant municipal works in Xianyang in recent years.

Located at People Square in downtown Xianyan, Shimao Urban Complex occupies a site area of approximately 23,200 sq.m with an aggregated planned GFA of approximately 130,000 sq.m. The greenery rate reaches 30%. The project is planned to build a four-star hotel with about 400 guest rooms, fully facilitated with commercial, meeting, events, and entertainment equipments, as well as two high-quality 98-meter-high 32-storey apartment, and a large-scale theme shopping mall at the center of the project. It is designated to be developed into a top level shopping paradise in Xianyan that integrates tourism, leisure, dining and entertainment.

Mr. Qian Junchang, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Xianyang, Mr. Gao Zhongyin, Deputy Mayor of Xianyang and Mr. Hui Sai Tan, Executive Vice President of Shimao Property Holdings Limited and leaders from related departments attended the commencement ceremony. Mr. Qian Junchang expressed his gratitude towards the successful initiating of Shimao Xianyang project. Mr. Hui Sai Tan expressed appreciation to municipal government sincerely for the generous support for Shimao Group and his great honor participating in developing the project. It is of great confidence of Shimao Group to build the project into a downtown landmark which combines with civil culture and matches with urban development.
