Chairman of Shimao Group, Mr. Hui Wing Mau Elected as Deputy Chairman of China Red Ribbon Foundation  

 

   
On 12 March 2010, the Second Executive Council of China Red Ribbon Foundation (“CRRF”) held its first meeting in Beijing. This meeting saw attendance by officials, including Mr. Huang Mengfu, Vice Chairman of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (“CPPCC”), Chairman of China National Federation of Industry and Commerce (“CNFIC”), Consultant of the China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program (“CSPGP”) and Honorary Chairman of CRRF; Mr. Xie Jingron, Vice Chairman of CNFIC; Mr. Hui Wing Mau, Vice Chairman of CNFIC and Chairman of Board of Directors of Shimao Group; Mr. Liu Canglong, Vice Chairman of CNFIC and Chairman of Sichuan Hongda (Group) Limited; Mr. Li Hejun, Deputy Chairman of CRRF and Vice Chairman of CSPGP; Mr. Qu Huaiming, Chairman of Supervisory Committee of CRRF; Mr. Peng Yu, Vice Chairman of China Charity Federation; Ms. Gu Yianfen, Vice Secretary General and Department of Anti-Poverty, Vice Secretary General of CSPGP and Mr. Hao Yang, Deputy Director of Office of AIDS Prevention and Cure of State Council.
Members of the Second Council and Supervisory Committee were elected during the meeting. Mr. Hui Wing Mau was elected the Executive President of the Second Council of CRRF, Mr. Xie Jingrong, the President of the Second Council of CRRF and Mr. Qu Huaiming, Head of Supervisory Committee. Mr. Huang Mengfu presented certificates and delivered a speech to these new elected members. He reaffirmed the achievements of CRRF over the past five years and assigned objectives for this Council. While concluding past experiences, Mr. Huang also outlined the directions for this Council in areas of platform building, system development and competence leverages in helping the Government to implement AIDS prevention measures.
On behalf of the new Council, Mr. Hui Wing Mau, J.P. delivered a speech to all the members of the Foundation and entrepreneurs of private enterprises in China. In his speech, Mr. Hui called for their support to enshrine entrepreneurial spirits in paying back the society, nurturing a healthy company while proactively expediting the progress of AIDS prevention in China, as part of their efforts in shouldering their social responsibiliies, and promoting care and respect to AIDS patients and their families. Mr. Hui urged members of the public to endeavor to the development of a harmonious, friendly and helpful society by eliminating the biases and discrimination against AIDS-infected victims.
