On the morning of 28 Nov 2009, Tianjin Shimao Ecology City (for identification purpose only) project, which is jointly developed by Shimao Property Holdings Limited and Zhongxin Tianjin Ecology City Investment and Development Limited., held a grand laying foundation ceremony at the project site. Mr. He Lifeng, the Vice Secretary of Tianjin Municipal Committee, Director of the Managing Committee of Tianjin Binhai New Area and the Chairman of Zhongxin Tianjin Ecology City Investment and Development Limited; the senior management executives of Shimao Group and Zhongxin Tianjin Ecology City attended the ceremony.

Located in Tianjin Binhai New Area, Zhongxin Tianjin Ecology City is a strategic project by a collaboration of governments of the PRC and Singapore. The project occupies a site area of 30 sq km and is planned to be developed into a modern urban district with a capacity of accommodating a population of 350,000.

Tianjin Shimao Ecology City project is the largest integrated project in Tianjin Ecology City. It is located in Yong Ding Zhou area south of the startup zone of Tianjin Ecology City. It occupies a total site area of 1.8 million sq.m., of which 1 million sq.m. is earmarked for residential use, while the remaining 800,000 sq.m. is for greenery. The residential section is initially planned to be developed into a large-scale high-end integrated ecological green community, including low-density residences and high-rise apartments. This project will be developed in three phases and is expected to complete by 2014. The hotel area is located in west to Zhongxin Avenue, south to Zhongsheng Avenue, east to the former Ji Canal, and north to the service center of the Zhongxin Tianjin Ecology City.

As the first large-scale project developed by Shimao in Tianjin, the construction of Tianjin Shimao Ecology City Project will on the principle of “Comprehensive, Coordinated and Sustainable Scientific Concept on Development” to make great efforts to build an ecological, harmonious and convenient community with Shimao’s powerful enterprise comprehensive strength and its experience of multi-directional city operation. With the further development of constructing ecological green and sustainable developmental residence, the project will provide Tianjin residents with better living style and new residential concept, promoting the development and construction of the whole Ecology City.
