To increase collaboration among world Chinese entrepreneurs and promote global economic prosperity, the 10th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) hosted by Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. was grandly held in SMC exhibition center, Manila, Philippines on November 20, 2009. Nearly 3000 Chinese entrepreneurial leaders and elites from all over the world attended the convention. The political figures including Mr. Jia Qinglin, Chairman of CPPCC National Committee; Mr. Huang Mengfu, Chairman of the Federation of Industry and Commerce; Ms. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines; Mr. Noli de Castro, Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines attended the convention. Mr. Hui Wing Mau, JP, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of Shimao Group was invited to make keynote speech “Join Hands with World Chinese Entrepreneurs to Promote Cross-strait Peace and World Prosperity”.

The healthy, rapid and stable growth of China’s economy will not only benefit the 1.3 billion Chinese citizens, but also bring unprecedented development opportunity for world Chinese entrepreneurs. In this regard, Mr. Hui Wing Mau stated that, world Chinese entrepreneurs should grasp and share this rare historic opportunity; especially the Chinese entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait should cooperate even more closely with solidarity. Mr. Hui Wing Mau said that, he had led delegations to Taiwan for many times recently and met with Taiwan's politicians and business executives including Mr. Lien Chan, Honorary President of Chinese Kuomintang; Mr. Wu Bo-xiong, former President of Chinese Kuomintang and Mr. Chiang Pin-kung, Chairman of Straits Exchange Foundation. Furthermore, he went to Beijing to meet with the leadership of State Council Taiwan Affairs Office and Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits to fully communicate for the cross-strait economic and trade cooperation. Mr. Hui hope to join the Chinese Entrepreneurs with vision, power and ambition across the Taiwan Strait together to build a cross-strait economic and trade cooperation and investment development platform and take practical action to promote the development of cross-strait co-prosperity. The world Chinese Entrepreneurs should respond positively to the call of Mr. Jia Qinglin about the overseas Chinese helping to expand economic, trade, cultural and personnel exchanges and promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. We should also seize the opportunity for a historic turning point of cross-strait relations, work together to create a new situation of cross-strait economic exchanges and cooperation, make unremitting efforts to achieve the peaceful reunification and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and contribute our own strength to promote world peace and prosperity.
