On 24 October 2009, Shimao Group and Wuxi Communications Industry Group held a signing ceremony of Wuxi integrated transport hub project in Wuxi Taihu Hotel. Mr. Mao Xiaoping, Mayor of Wuxi Municipal Government; Mr. Wu Fengfeng, Secretary General of Wuxi Municipal Government; Mr. Xue Jun, Board Chairman of Wuxi Communications; Mr. Wang Guoxin, CEO of Wuxi Communications; Mr. Hui Wing Mau, JP, Chairman of Shimao Group; Mr. Hui Sai Tan, Vice Chairmen of Shimao Property and Ms. Hui Mei Mei, President of Shimao Stock attended the ceremony.

Wuxi, known as “a Town of Abundance” and the cradle of national and rural industry, has been reputed as “Taihu Pearl”. With its long history and beautiful scenery, Wuxi is one of the outstanding tourist cities in China. The site is located on the north of Wuxi Railway Station, south to Xingyuan Road, north to Beixin River, east to Muzhuan Line and west to Xicheng Road. The land area of the project is approximately 300,000sq.m and the planned aggregate GFA is approximately 1,400,000sq.m. It is designated to be developed into an integrated project with offices, starred hotels and high-grade residences around transport hub.

At the ceremony, Mr. Mao Xiaoping, Mayor of Wuxi, expressed warm welcome and heartfelt congratulation to the cooperation between Shimao Group and Wuxi Communications. He said this project is a symbol of Wuxi city construction, which is highly valued by the Municipal Government and Municipal Party Committee and draws attention of the whole city. As a leader of domestic real estate industry, Shimao’s entering into Wuxi market and cooperation with Wuxi Communications will play a significant role in improving the quality of the project. Mr. Mao believed that under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Hui Wing Mau, Shimao would be certain to build an excellent project, which will satisfying Wuxi people and build the north railway station district into a new city card of Wuxi.

Mr. Hui Wing Mau, JP, Chairman of Shimao Group, stated that Shimao takes this project as a bridgehead of entering Wuxi market and an important extension of Shimao’s Yangtze River Strategy. With the first-class planning, design and management, Shimao will live up to expectations, seek for excellence and intensify construction to strive for an early start and make unique contributions to the city development of Wuxi.
