On 23 October 2009, 7 famous enterprises in Hong Kong and Mainland China including Shimao Group, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp.(HSBC), BOC International Investment Managers and Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) were honored with the “Charity Enterprise” award in the “Affecting China” large-scale selection activities, which was initiated by Hong Kong Wen Hui Daily, and was co-sponsored by Hong Kong Press and the industrial and commercial circles.

“Affecting China” is a nationwide selection activity which has national authority, facing Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and the Region of Greater China. It summarizes and reviews the remarkable contributions which has promoted the development and construction of the country by outstanding persons from cities, enterprises and all kinds of fields in the past 60 years since the Founding of the People's Republic of China. It also fully demonstrates the image of China as a great nation to home and abroad.
